Where Indians actually trade and invest
A plain comparison of the platforms used for stocks, F&O and crypto in India, covering account opening, maintenance, delivery, intraday, F&O and crypto fees side by side. Educational comparison, not a recommendation.
Side-by-side comparison
Every listed platform on the same fee categories, plus any referral discount available through VIA Capital.
What I personally use
My own setup, pick whatever suits you
Every platform listed here is one I use or have used personally. This is simply what works for me at each stage; it is not investment advice and you should choose your own broker after checking their live charges.
First time trying F&O
Kotak Neo
Flat, low per-order brokerage makes the learning phase cheap. Once you are consistently profitable, move to Dhan or Zerodha for better order execution and tooling.
Scalping and very fast intraday
Groww, Zerodha, Dhan
Groww's scalper order flow is quick and simple; Zerodha and Dhan handle heavy order volume well with flat Rs 20 per order pricing.
Mainly an investor (mutual funds and stocks)
Groww, Angel One
Direct mutual funds with no commission, zero or low AMC, and a simple portfolio view, enough for long term SIP and delivery investing.
Crypto trading (not investing)
Delta Exchange
The most usable Indian venue for crypto futures and options. Leverage cuts both ways, so position sizing matters more than the fee.
Holding crypto in spot
Binance
Deep liquidity and low spot fees for buying and holding coins, instead of trading derivatives.
Forex and currency pairs
CXM Trading
What I currently use for forex. Tight raw spreads on MT4/MT5. Forex leverage is very high risk and is not SEBI-regulated for offshore pairs.
Investing in stocks
Look at delivery brokerage and AMC first. Zero-delivery brokers suit buy-and-hold investors who trade rarely.
F&O and intraday
Per-order flat fees matter far more than percentages once you place many orders. Also compare order speed and charting.
Crypto: spot vs derivatives
Spot means owning the coin. Derivatives use leverage and can wipe out capital fast. They are completely different risk profiles.
