ERs cover ~10–15 stocks in a sector, forecast their earnings, and publish notes with a rating and target price. Sell-side ERs serve institutional clients; buy-side ERs feed a mutual fund/hedge fund's PMs. It's the deepest sector-mastery role in markets.
