Daily work

A day in the life

7:00am pre-market read, overnight US, key global cues. 8:30 team meeting on positioning. 9:15 market open, execute trades / rebalancing. 11:00 meet a company management team. 2:00 internal committee reviews new idea. 5:00 client review call. 8:00 read industry reports, refine watchlist.

PMs make the final buy/sell/hold call and are directly accountable for a portfolio's returns vs a benchmark. In India they run mutual funds, PMS, AIFs, or family offices. In markets, they are the operator; everyone else advises. A PM's career is judged by rolling 3-year performance.
