What you'll be able to do

  • Understand the cost of financial illiteracy
  • Connect finance to freedom, not greed
  • Set your own learning goal

Think about it

Two friends earn the exact same salary for 10 years. One retires 15 years earlier than the other. What did they do differently?

Story

Let's picture it

Ravi and Aman both joined an IT firm in Pune at ₹6 LPA. Ravi upgraded his phone every year and used EMIs freely. Aman kept his expenses flat for three years and automated a small monthly investment. Ten years later Ravi's salary is higher, but Aman has choices. He can take a pay cut to switch careers. Ravi can't. Same income, different outcome, decided entirely by knowledge.

Visual

Knowing vs guessing

Without finance knowledge

Reacts to offers, EMIs, tips and fear

With finance knowledge

Plans, questions, compares, waits

Plain English

The simple explanation

Financial literacy is not about becoming rich. It is about not being fooled, by a mis-sold policy, a 'guaranteed return' scheme, or a credit card you didn't read.

Every rupee decision you postpone gets made for you by someone selling something.

The goal of this Academy is confidence, not confidence tricks. You will learn to say 'I understand this' or 'I don't, so I'll skip it.'

Real world

SEBI

SEBI regularly warns investors about unregistered 'advisors' promising fixed returns on the market. The single best protection is understanding, a person who knows how returns actually work cannot be sold a guaranteed one.

Watch out

Common mistakes

  • Chasing returns before learning risk
  • Assuming finance is only for commerce students
  • Learning from people who profit when you act

Did you know?

RBI and SEBI both run investor-education programmes because studies repeatedly show financial literacy in India stays under 30%.
